TOP 5 WEEKEND TREKS FROM BANGALORE 
There are a lot of trekking places around bangalore.  These treks are within the range of 50 to 300 kilometers.  

Here are list of five treks:

i) Savandurga Hill

ii) Narayangiri

iii) Ramanagara

iv) Nandi Hills

v) Devarayanadurga Hill

SAVANDURGA HILL:

     Savandurga is at a distance of 48 kilometers from Bangalore. This is at an altitude of 1226 meters. This is popular for Night Trek, Sunrise, Fort and its views. The trekking range of the trek is moderate. This trek covers about one day to complete. The best time to visit the trek is October to March. The base place is Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple. The maximum altitude is 4,022 feet. The trek is full of granite rock predominantly on the trail with mud sections and small forests. There are two temples at the base of Savandurga trek.  The largest monolith in India is Savandurga.  The range of Savandugra has two hills.  Karigudda and Billigudda are the hills in Savandurga range.  At first it will take you to the fort which is so marvelous to look at.  It was built by Kempe Gowda II.  There you can get the aesthetic view of Bangalore.

     The location of the spot is off the Magadi Road.  It is at a distance of 60 kilometers from Bangalore.  The range of the trek is easy.  Climbing on the top of the hill is not a difficult one, it is so easy to complete the trek.

NARAYANGIRI:

     This is the best trek to do at night.  Nearby kayaks are hired.  This is not a difficult trek.  In the trail, there are deep crevices.  So it is necessary to tread very carefully in the mountains.  At the top of the view, you can see an aesthetic view of the town Ramanagaram.

     Narayangiri is located at Ramanagaram.  The distance of Narayangiri is 54 kilometers from bangalore.  The range of the trek is easy to moderate.

RAMANAGARA:

     Ramanagara is at a distance of 47 kilometers from Bangalore. This is at an altitude of 914 meters. This is popular for Night Trek, Sunrise and its views. The trekking range of the trek is easy. Ramanagara is also called silk city or silk town as it is well known for its sericulture and channapatna toys. In Asia the largest market for silk cocoons is ramanagara. And it’s a land of seven hills. The most recommended way to get from Bangalore to Ramanagara is by train and it costs around hundred to six hundred rupees.  

     The small town named Ramanagara is located in karnataka.  This is the short trek.  It is located in Ramanagara.  The distance of the trek from Bangalore is 54 kilometer.  The range of the trek is from easy to moderate level.  This is away from Bangalore.  This trek will not take much time.

NANDI HILLS:

     The Nandi hills can be done in two ways.  The trek can be attended by either south or north of the mountains.  The northern part is used by cyclists and bikes, as the northern road is proper but a little crowded too.  At the southern route, it is the route to experience a real trekking experience to the top.

     The view of Tipu Sultan’s summer residence can be seen at the top of the hills.  The awesome photographs can be taken there.  On the top of the mountains, there is a temple.  

     The location of theNandi hills in Chikkaballapur.  The distance of the Nandi hills from bangalore is 60 kilometers.  The range of the trek is easy.

DEVARAYANADURGA HILL:

     During March and April, the buddha purnima festival is celebrated in this hill station.  It is a family trek, which the whole family can enjoy.  There are three levels in this trek.  

     From the top to the lowest, it is easy.  At the elevation, there is the Lakshmi – Narasimha Swamy Temple.  Also at the higher levels, Yoga Narasimha and Bhoga Narasimha temples are present.  Next level is somewhat challenging, but it can be completed.  Here there is a small pond and spring.  On going higher ranges, it seems to be tough.  So physical fitness is much more important.  There is a small spring which is named as Jaya-tirtha.  It is at the top.

     The location of the Devarayanadurga hill is Devarayanadurga near Tumkur.  The distance of Devarayanadurga hill is 70 kilometers from bangalore.  The range of the trek is easy to difficult.
