HP Printer is best known for its speed and print quality. These printers are very robust and budget-friendly. You can reliably configure the printer with your PC as the interface is very simple. For home users, HP offers small-sized printers which offer good printouts. New HP Printer Ink Cartridge is robust but the user may still face some errors. 

Common Reasons Behind HP Printer Ink Cartridge is not Working

  1. Your cartridge is not installed correctly
  2. You are using clone cartridge on HP printer
  3. The cartridge pins are damaged
  4. The printer is not acknowledging refilled cartridge
  5. HP printer driver is not working
  6. Printer services are showing errors 

Resolving HP Printer Ink Cartridge Error

Restart the HP Printer

After installing the new cartridge on the printer, try to restart it. Many times, the printer services can’t read the new cartridge. To recognize the new cartridge on the HP printer; restart it. For restarting all services, you should try the power restart. Remove the electric cord and reconnect it. The HP printer services will start running. Now the printer can easily detect the new cartridge and you can take the printouts

Reinstall the Cartridge on the HP Printer

Your printer won’t show the cartridge if it is not installed correctly. You can try installing your cartridge on the printer. Go to your HP printer and lift the scanning tray. Now check the cartridge slot and remove the newly installed cartridge. Check the ends and reinsert them. Make sure your ink cartridge is correctly installed on the printer. Check the cartridge whether the printer is reading it or not. Once the printer finds the cartridge, send the command and take your printouts easily.

Use only Original Ink Cartridge

Your HP printer may show a cartridge error if you are installing any clone cartridge. The clone cartridges are cheaper than the original ones. These are manufactured as fit-for-all types. If you install the clone carriages, the HP printer may not read it. These cartridges can damage the printer also.

You should never use third-party cartridges as they also ruin the print quality. On your HP printer always use the original cartridges. For cost-cutting, try refilling the original cartridge. When the cartridge is empty, purchase the good-quality ink. Now refill the ink on the cartridge. After refilling, close the lid and shake it carefully. Install your refilled cartridge and now you can use the printer.

Check the Printer Driver

When the HP Printer not Responding and shows cartridge issues then inspect the driver. Without the correct driver, your HP printer won’t work. Go to the printer-connected PC and inspect the driver. Click on the driver and check for a new update.

After updating, the driver will start working. But many times the printer driver gets corrupted and can’t update. The user should repair or install the printer driver. When you can’t repair it then reinstall your driver. After reinstalling, the printer driver will start working and you can take new printouts.

Check the Cartridge

You can face cartridge errors when the cartilage gets damaged. Always check the pins before installing the cartridge on the printer. If the pins are bent then fix them carefully. But when the pins are broken then you can’t use that cartridge. Without pins, the printer can’t find the cartridge. Also, check the tape while installing a new cartridge. This tape is for preventing any mishandling but you must remove it before installing. Eject the cartridge and remove the tape from it. Reinstall your cartridge on the HP printer.

Check Ink on the Cartridge

Cartridge issues can appear when the ink inside the cartridge is dried up. When the printer is not in use for many days or the temperature is high; the ink inside the cartridge gets dried up. The printer can’t fetch that ink and shows a cartridge error. For this, you have to replace the cartridge with a new one. You can also try adding some solvent to the cartridge. Mix it and try to use that cartridge. If the printer is still not fetching the ink then replace the cartridge.

Reinstall the Refilled Cartridge

Many HP printer users reported that the printer is not recognizing the refilled cartridge. For this error, try removing all cartridges from the printer. Go to cartridge status and all the slots must be in 0. Now start installing all cartridges including the refilled ones, one by one. The printer will recognize the refilled cartridge while installed with other cartridges.
