Dublin healthy restaurant
With ‘New Year, New Me’ resolutions in full swing, delicious healthy food is always in demand. Bonus points if you don’t have to make it yourself! But how are you going to keep up your healthy eating regime while travelling? Not to worry, there are so many healthy restaurants, healthy cafes and low-calorie take away options available these days, many of which are a stone’s throw from our serviced apartment accommodation on Dublin’s Leeson Street. Here are some of our favourites.

1. TANG

Tang is one of the finest, most sustainable restaurants in the city with a focus on local produce and delicious flavours. Their food is heavily middle eastern influenced and the produce and taste varies from Wexford Strawberries to homemade tahini & dukkah. The food is delicious, healthy and served by friendly staff who really know their stuff. Try a delicious chicken or lamb flatbread packed with vegetables and delicious flavour for a truly satisfying meal. If you’re planning lunch from Tang, you’ll likely need to take it away as there is limited seating available.

2. EMER’S KITCHEN

One of our closest neighbours and a staff lunch favourite, Emer’s kitchen is almost directly across the road from our serviced apartments on Leeson Street. The focus in Emer’s is locally sourced food, made in house by their talented team. They offer little choice at lunchtime with three salads, one sandwich special, a brunch special and soup as almost the entire menu. You won’t feel like you’re missing out, however, as the great value lunch they offer always hits the spot. They offer flavour combinations you’d never try at home and always manage to pull it off. Well worth a visit.

3. SPROUT & CO

At Sprout & Co, their focus is fresh and seasonal, local and healthy – perfect to maintain your new year’s resolution. Locally sourced isn’t just a slogan for Sprout & co, it’s part of their business model and something they take very seriously. You can build your salad from a huge variety of ingredients including warm bowls, seasonal sides and dressings that are to die for. They also serve cold pressed juices, delicious smoothies and balanced healthy breakfasts. There are multiple locations across the city, the closest being Baggot Street.

4. CHOPPED

Chopped was created by owners who realised the lack of nutritious food available to those wanting to live and healthy yet convenient lifestyle. It has grown in popularity–no longer exclusively for those on diets or gym bunnies -to now being a go-to for delicious healthy food. They offer a variety of foods from chopped bowls to wraps and burritos, all made with the freshest ingredients. You can build your own bowl or choose from one of the predefined salads if you can’t choose. You can top your salad with healthy extras and a variety of dressings, either incorporated or on the side. They’re popping up all over town and now do home deliveries!

5. UMI FALAFEL

We know all vegetarian food is not inherently healthy, but we also believe in a little of what you fancy. That’s why Umi Falafel makes our list of healthy restaurants. They serve wholesome, filling Eastern food including flatbread smothered in Tahini & vegetables. Their falafels are soft on the inside and crisp on the outside and are homemade in house every day. You can have them on their own, in a wrap or with a salad and the accompanying sides are absolutely delicious. Customise your meal to make it as healthy as you like but we encourage you to try their delicious fried halloumi. Don’t forget, when you choose our serviced apartments on Leeson Street as your accommodation in Dublin, you have full flexibility over your meals. Each of our serviced apartments has a fully-equipped kitchen so you can prepare, cook, store and enjoy the food you like when you want it. If you’re busy, order a healthy meal for delivery and enjoy it in your serviced apartment while you work or relax. Store leftovers or snacks for your family in the fridge and enjoy them at your leisure.
