When we visited the castle, it was a bright winter morning. We wanted to see the castle first, so we didn’t stop on our way to see our beautiful Jal Mahal. Fort Amber is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and even in the morning it was full of tourists. You usually need a guide to learn this place, but I had a friend with me who I think would have been a better guide for me.
A Brief History of Fort Amber
Amber is located 11 km from Jaipur. This place was the town of Minas, a tribal community of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh from 967 BC. Later Raja Man Singh I became the ruler of Amber and began to rebuild the castle. Raja Man Singh was one of the Navratnas in the court of the Mongol emperor Akbar. The work was done by his descendants and was carried out by Savai Jai Singh, who later founded the city of Jaipur. Fort Amber has long been a luxury destination for the Rajput Maharajas and their families. The castle is famous for its beautiful elements of Hindu style, but also has a mix of Hindu and Muslim styles.
